Jenador and her son Douglas work together designing the Sun Loong Dragon.Henry Charles Kidd.Jenador Gem Opal Pictures emerges in stark contrast from its humble beginnings on the harsh opal fields of Australia.

It is the early 1970's when my father, Henry Charles Kidd along With his wife Dorothy, their six children and pioneering spirits, embarked on the adventure of a lifetime.

The opal fields of this era were extremely harsh and unforgiving, it was not an unusual phenomenon to witness a family with absolutely nothing left, perhaps not even enough food for the evening meal, and then become millionaires overnight, such was the way of life.

I suppose it was because of this pioneering spirit, my father and I developed the concept of designing and creating the largest known works of gem opal pictures in the world.

The road to success is quite a long one, there were many years of experimentation until finally we were able to achieve the vision we had worked so hard for.

My father and I worked together for many years until his untimely death at the age of sixty five.

The tradition of the pictures continue with my eldest son Douglas very capably assisting me with the designing of each piece.
