The national bird of India symbolises grace, pride and beauty. They are a sign of joy for all who see him.

This is a subject I have spent some time planning, a lifetime in fact. It is a vision created through endless dreams and thoughts. I guess you could say I really had no choice. With the myriads of colours of the peacock he really does come to life, much the same way as gem opal, a true marrying of two subjects.

This unique piece of art will never be re-created. There are approximately 92,500 pieces of opal, equating to 225 carats. Each piece of opal is chosen for its brilliance and stunning lustre.

This picture took some six months to complete.
